As an aspiring neuroscientist & someone recovering from years of mental illness, I want to offer hope & understanding of mental illness to sufferers & loved ones of those struggling. In understanding the neurotransmitters, hormones, brain regions & connectivity differences involved in mental illness, it makes it easier to understand that mental illness is never a choice, but recovery is possible.
